Good Day All
We wanted to let everyone know what has been happening.
A couple of weeks ago, the server which our site had been hosted on for over 3 years was shutdown with no notice to our donator doing the hosting. We do thank KiaTheWolf for his company hosting the site for such a long time.
The site was temporarily moved to a server running in the basement of SngglBny's house while a new provider was found.
The site was temporarily moved to AWS (Amazon Web Services) to a huge failure as the server could not handle the load and there was lack of response from AWS on doing an upgrade to allow for full operation. As soon as 3 people logged on, the server max'd out and would not operate.
A new provider was chosen due to decent sized VPS and DDOS protection. We needed to look at a provider which had DDOS protection as in the last few years we have received a few targeted attacks which caused large issues for our last provider even to the point where they had issues keeping their data centre operational.
With the provider we are on currently, we are working with them on the temporary slowness seen at time, as the VPS is showing very little load.
We will be doing some cache settings this weekend to decrease the load time on some of the pages.
We do appreciate everyones patience while we continue to work with the provider to bring the site back up to 100% operation.
We know some have not been as understanding as others and we do understand how some could be frustrated.
With all this we came down to two options:
1. To close the site and not continue along the path of frustration in getting everything operational and moving providers, etc.
2. Continue to put in additional hours in working with various parties to keep the site operational and to continue to improve the site.
As a service to the community and due to the amount of people who use the site, we are still continuing down the path of Option 2.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach...

We wanted to let everyone know what has happened during our recent outage.
We need to move data centres on Monday and the temporary server we were being brought up on was too small for our site to run efficiently.
On Tuesday time was taken to put the site onto a temporary server and we went through a lot of testing to fix issues we were seeing.
We are planning a move to a permanent server by the end of this month, where we should experience 100% stability.
During this transition phase, there may be temporary outages, but we do not anticipate anything at this time.
If there are questions, please feel free to each out and we will do our best to address them.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
On Saturday, September 12th, the site will be unavailable for a majority of the day as we will be updating the forums to xF 1.5.
xF 1.5 will bring forth many new features to the site, including but not limited to:
- Security update: the introduction of Two-Step Verification
- Notification updates
- Thread Tagging
- Ability to like profile comments
- and more!
We've learned from last time when we jumped the gun on doing a forum update, that a lot of features we previously had broke, but as we waited some time for this update, a lot of these features have been updated to be compatible, so I'm not expecting anything to break during this update.
We, however, should remain committed to staying up-to-date on the forum software, as updates not only bring new features, but they also patch bugs, fix up known vulnerabilities, and overall keep the data of our site safe.
You will not need to re-learn a whole new website, the overall design and functionality of the site will remain the same.
Thanks!
Zilch

Hi guys,
Since not many users were using it, the feature Tapatalk has been disabled until further notice.
With that said, the Media Gallery has been re-enabled, as it was discovered that Tapatalk was actually having compatibility issues with it! You'll notice that everything is still there from before. Just click on "Media" at the top of the website! If you have any bugs with "Media", please PM me what those bugs are, and we'll get them ironed out! Include screenshots and be descriptive, as that will help a lot.
Thanks guys,
Zilch

Hi all,
Just a reminder that the FurEh hotel room block will close for bookings on Tuesday April 7th [EDIT: EXTENDED TO APRIL 9TH], as well they're almost entirely sold out so if you still need one best to pick it up ASAP or they might be gone! Your credit card will not be charged any sort of up front fee for the reservation.
Also FurEh pre-registration will close for sponsors and higher on April 10th, if you've got your eyes on a reg pack that includes a bunch of goodies, early access to the Dealer's Den, a ticket to the Guest of Honor dinner or any of our other perks you don't have much time left! Pre-registration for basic reg will close on April 26th, after which point all reg will be at-the-door.
We're so excited to have you all with us this year and can't wait to show you all the awesome things we've got in store for the con!

Hi everyone,
Today we did a few updates to the site! First of all, a BRAND NEW LOOK! AF now has a flat design to it, with easier to read font, and best of all (and most requested feature); A BETTER DARK MODE!
Also we updated the shoutbox for bugfixes.
Thanks, and enjoy!
