It's time once again for the Edmonton Furs Yearly Victoria Day picnic.
When: Monday May 21nd, Starting whenever people show up and ending whenever the last person leaves. Usually starts around Noon, until around 17:00.
Where: Government House Park, we usually meet up at the picnic tables on the north side of the park and claim a few of them for the group, first one there usually is the one grabbing the tables.
For those people taking the bus to the venue, the 128 and the 130 go past the park, but there is NO STOP at the park, you have to walk across the bridge. There are bus stops by the OLD Royal Alberta Museum on the west side of the Groat Bridge, and then a walk down into the river valley. The buses will be on regular Sunday Service since it's a stat holiday.
Driving instructions, Take Groat Road or River Valley Road or Victoria Park Road and it's on the west side near the Groat Bridge. What, you think I'm going to do ALL the work for you?
Who: Who cares?
What: It's a Bring Your Own Picnic, bring your own food, beverages, etc.
This is a Public park so NO Public Indecency, NO Alcohol, and use some common sense.
Why: It's the first long weekend after the snow should be melted.
Generally there are people who bring there fursuits and there's never been an issue that I'm aware of.
As for the use of the firepits, that'll be something we have to wait until closer to the date of the event in order to find out if there will be a fire ban or not.
*currently a fire ban on*
Anything that's forgotten will probably be brought up and discussed in the thread to follow.
