Please note that all the rules are NOT listed and are being written and will be announced with an update to this post.
Thank you for your patience.
Any users attempting to hack the site will have their IP(s) permanently banned.
The rules:
We have placed these forums here to provide you, to facilitate, and to foster a respectful and fun environment for our users. These forums are the most active part of our website (and currently the only part, this may change in the near future). We will list off our forum use guidelines and rules. You are expected to adhere to the policies and rules that we have stated below. We also reserve the right to change these rules at any given time with or without prior notice.
#1 - No 18+ material:
Do not post 18+ material anywhere on the site.
This also applies to illegal substances. Do not post links to other sites or post any kind of the materials above anywhere on this site.
#2 - Stay on topic/Spamming is prohibited:
The primary theme for this is, of course, furry. It includes a heavy slant to Canadian culture as this forum's residents are primarily Canadian in nationality. Tying into the rule of keeping things on topic, it is necessary to refrain from creating posts of little to no value to the discussions at hand. Avoid brief responses to topics, such as simply stating nothing more than "Yay!" or "LOL".
#3 - Privacy:
We cannot be held liable for anything that happens to you, your life, or etc. due to your own negligence. If its on the site, it is possible for it to be public knowledge.
#4 - Language:
In Alberta, the official language of the majority of the province is English, it is recognized as the official language for our forums as well. We absolutely appreciate and highly encourage positive community interaction between any and all cultures around the world, however our forum moderation team must be able to moderate all conversations on the forums. Unfortunately, conversations held in other languages can often prevent this moderation, therefore any non-English post found on our forums may be removed without notice.
#5 - Personal attacks/Harassment is prohibited..
If reported or seen the offender maybe suspended or banished without question. This includes any text with profane, sexual, racial, or negative inflections toward race, gender, creed, religion, and/or otherwise deemed inappropriate by the moderation team, very offensive profanity in posts may have the member suspended or banished without question.
Alberta Furries is an LGBT Friendly Community. We support and accept gender equality across the site. Not everyone accepts LGBT and there are those who are not comfortable with it. We don’t mind, and everyone has their own opinions, but what is not acceptable is harassing people because of their gender or sexuality (and this goes for vice-versa, too).
*Swears are allowed within a non-offensive manner.*
Be respectful at all times. Help us and yourselves foster a healthy community.
Never direct an insult towards anyone on the site, even sarcastically. Users will be reprimanded for this.
#6 - Trolling is absolutely prohibited:
A "forum troll" is a person who enters an established online forum and intentionally attempts to cause disruption, often by posting messages that are inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a reaction from other users.
#7 - Impersonation of anyone is prohibited:
Any act, implied, or inferred.
#8 - Advertising:
Posting fan sites/con sites/etc are usually acceptable, but if you're unsure, please contact a staff member.
#9 - Admins and Moderators:
These people are here donating their time to make the forums a better place for us all. Please do not argue with them or try to make their jobs any harder. Impersonating an admin will result in a permanent ban, without exception. Sometimes there may be instances or scenarios where action may need to be taken for something not explicitly outlined in the forum rules, however can still morally be considered "wrong". Staff will do their best to accommodate with their actions to make as fair of a judgement as possible.
#10 - Events:
AF events are not to be shared with members of the media or those acting as their agents. Events are not to be shared with members who have been removed/banned from the site.
If you have an event which is open to the public, outside of AF, please let everyone know in the main post, listing the event.
WRC events are posted on a public website, so events posted in the WRC Event section are known to those outside of AF. If you have any questions on a WRC event please contact Sati
#11 - Media:
Any interest in this community and site, via media, must contact http://www.wildrosecritters.com/ . AF will not have any affiliation with the media. Alberta Furries is also not affiliated with Wild Rose Critters.
#12 - Signature Size:
For signatures we will allow 2 - 400x100px or 1 - 400x200px for pictures/tags/text, etc or any combination there of. Anything larger than that will be removed by a staff member.
Rule #13 Multiple Accounts
Users are not permitted to create multiple accounts , doing so will result in the removal of any and all secondary profiles.
Users creating multiple accounts for the purpose of harassing another user, or evading a ban, will be subject to moderator intervention.
If you desire a name change, or want to change anything on your profile, just ask a staff member to give you a hand!
I will reiterate, that you please adhere to the aforementioned guidelines and rules.
Rule # 14 Harassment of Staff: The staff is here to keep the site flowing smoothly and to ensure this is a safe and fun place for all. All of the staff have personal accounts on Skype, etc. but abusing them to complain, etc. is a form of harassment. If you wish to talk to a staff member please use the PM feature on the site. Sending multiple messages and even to excess will fall under the site harassment policy and will be dealt with accordingly.
Rule # 15 Anonymous Posting: In certain sections, users have the ability to post anonymously. Although this optional feature is available to allow a user to post privately without having their name associated with their post, please note that this does not grant you the privilege to break any of the aforementioned rules, and you will still be held responsible for your activity and posts as an anonymous poster. The administrative team has the ability to reveal the user of the anonymous posts on the forums, and take appropriate action if required to do so.
